Changes coming to your jobactive job seeker dashboard

From 1 July 2018 your dashboard on the jobactive website is getting a new look and some new features.

It’s fresher, cleaner and makes it clear what you have to do to keep on track with your job search and requirements.

New features

Tasks to do

If you have a job plan or a participation plan, your new Tasks to do menu tells you what requirements you have and when they’re due.

Keeping track of your Tasks to do is the best way to make sure you get your income support payment.

We’ll use Did you know to give you important notifications.

You’ll find information about programs you could be eligible for, and tips to help you get the most out of your jobactive website account.


Take control of your dashboard and display the information you want to see. Get the details you need to boost your job search by adding items like:

  • jobs of interest
  • useful information
  • quick links

Compliance indicator

A new compliance system for people with mutual obligation requirements in jobactive, Disability Employment Services and ParentsNext will also come online on 1 July 2018. Your compliance indicator lets you know where you stand and what you need to do to make sure you get your income support payment.

  1. Hi this is the best way that I think should help us to found the job thank you for every body support us

  2. I am over 65 and trying to find employment. I do not want Newstart or other government payments but would like to be able to access vacancies on here and any other job search assistance. What is available and what do I need to do?

    1. Hi Bobbie. You can absolutely use the jobactive website to search for jobs and find resources, regardless of if you get any government payment. Ours is a free online service for all job seekers in Australia.

      Please keep in mind if you want to apply for jobs advertised directly on the site, you will need to create a job seeker account and link it to myGov. This video explains how to link your account if you haven’t already.

    1. Hi Graham, thanks for your question.

      The upcoming system changes are driven by two main reasons:

      1. The 2017–18 Budget – Employment Overview.
      2. Our Department’s focus on creating more user-centred systems and services.

      We hope when you sign in after 1 July 2018 you will see the system is more streamlined and easier to use.

      We’ll also be updating our user guides to give more detailed instructions about features and functions on your dashboard.


  3. Merging accounts seems to be impossible. Have advised my job network advisor and was told they knew nothing. Do I need to merge them?

    1. Hi Alan

      Thanks for your question. There are advantages to merging your accounts to the correct job seeker ID.

      Your best option is to email or call the job seeker hotline at ajsfeedback@jobs.gov.au or 13 62 68. You can give them a bit more detail about your issue and they’ll help you out.

      If you choose to email, it helps if you can screen shot what you’re doing.

  4. What is this Compliance Indicator and what will it tell me to do? How does it work? Does it affect my payments?

    1. Hi Joe

      Thanks for your question. Complying with your mutual obligation requirements is linked to your income support payment. The compliance indicator will show you if you’re meeting your requirements.

      We’d recommend you speak with your employment services provider to find out more about compliance. They should have printed resources to share with you that explain the new compliance system in more detail.

      After the changes to the jobactive website go live on 1 July 2018, you can also find information about compliance, including the different zones, from the Participation History screen on your dashboard.

  5. DHS is the Department of Human Services. DHS look after Centrelink and income support payments. Are you able to give me a bit more information about your question?
